Best summer of my life!
Submitted by Caroline - Voorhees Highschool | April 14, 2018
I went on this trip last summer and it was the best three weeks of my life ever! I made so many friends that I still talk to and even meet up with from time to time to this day. We did so many amazing and different things. One of my favorite things was swimming with the Manta rays and snorkeling with sea turtles. I have so many memories from this trip that I will never forget. My councilors and my CIT were super cool and always managed to keep things in order. Also, it was amazing how many great photos they were able to get of us, they had so many amazing candid shots that I love to look back on! This trip gives you the full Hawaiian experience and shows you the different personalities of every island.

This was easily one of my favorite trips I have ever been on. The trip starts in Dar es Salaam, where we get to learn the country and go to an island to have a relaxing day on the beach. Then we proceeded to Morogoro, where we worked at a local school known as SEGA. Working with the girls at SEGA was such a moving and memorable experience for me. All of the girls at the school were brought there because they could not attend school otherwise for various reasons. It is such an amazing program, and the girls were all so sweet. We got to meet with our small groups every day that we were there, and our activities ranged from Swahili lessons, movie night, and even a spa night. Throughout that week we also went on a beautiful hike and went on our first safari. After an amazing week at the school, the 21 day trip moves into the safari/local tribe portion of the trip. We got to go on two more amazing safaris where we got extremely close to lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants, etc. The local tribe visits were so amazing! You definitely get off the beaten path with TFT; nothing those visits seemed touristy! The culture and traditions of the tribes were all so unique and interesting. After a few days of camping, tribe visits, and safaris, the group goes to Zanzibar for a few days of relaxing on the beach and exploring.
I would recommend this trip to anyone! It is one of TFT's smaller trips, so our group got to be extremely close throughout the 3 weeks. I loved every second of my trip to Tanzania with TFT, and the staff did a wonderful job of keeping everyone safe and happy!

For my first time being in Europe, this was an awesome trip to go on to get my feet wet! It was great being able to experience so much culture and history but at the same time never feeling like it was too overwhelming. There was a great balance between adventure and relaxation and eating lots of great food. I loved meeting new people on the trip and learning a new language with them. It was also cool how we got to interact with the locals, being taught in an art class and spending time in town. This trip definitely showed me how many great things there are to see in Italy and I will for sure be going back.
The Experience of a Lifetime

I had an amazing time traveling abroad with TFT during the summer of 2017. Not only did l learn a lot, But I also had a blast. I got to meet many people from different places and made many friends. One of the best parts is being able to travel with the trip leaders. They are friendly, supportive, and caring. Whenever we had a crisis, they were always calm and took responsibility. My favorite activities were the boat ride in Paris and the Broadway show in London. If I had the chance, I would totally go back again. You can't deny that there will always be up and downs to traveling, but I honestly cannot remember a time with TFT when l was less than happy. This company has really changed my life, teaching me to be a traveler, not a tourist. I would definitely recommend this program to teens who want to travel the world.

Italy Photography was the best trip I have ever taken!! Not only did we learn so much how to professionally capture photos, but we also were emerged in the culture. We had a fabulous National Geographic photographer, Simon Bond, who tagged along and he taught us all the structure and settings of our cameras along with certain photography techniques. Marguax was the other counselor on the trip who was AMAZING. She taught us all the historical background on each city we visited and she showed us how to eat some gelatto!:) If you love pasta and pizza, then you sure are in for a treat! Although we had a full itinerary, the trip was very laid back and the schedule was very flexible. Italy was a breath taking place to visit and being able to really capture moments from the trip was the coolest thing. I HIGHLY recommend Italy Photography.

I had the most amazing time traveling with TFT this past summer! I came into this trip having taken a film photography class in school but still not knowing/understand the basic mechanics of a camera, and by the end of the trip, I could quickly and comfortably change the settings to capture the perfect picture. Our photography lessons were brief (maybe 15-25 minutes) yet incredibly interesting. We were taught the basics and then day by day were introduced new "mini projects" to keep in mind during the day, such as street photography, portraits, the rule of thirds, framing, ect. Believe it or not I left this trip with over 2,000 pictures! This trip was also the first time I traveled without my parents, and although I arrived at the airport nervous the second, I meet everyone I was instantly put at ease. I instantly become friends with all the girls and we are all still in touch today! Finally I have to give a HUGE shoutout to our head counselor Margaux and our photo teacher Simon. Marqaux was so sweet and funny telling us stories and joining in on our conversations, but she also did an incredible job making everything run smoothly. Simon was incredibly knowledgable and it was pretty amazing being taught by someone who has been featured in National Geographic! I am so grateful that I found TFT and am already planning what trip I will be going on this upcoming summer!

I had the best experience on this trip. Everyday there was a new adventure, from sun up to sun down. I met lifelong friends and have memories that I will treasure forever. When you travel with TFT you get the full experience to be a traveler, not a tourist. Staying in hostiles, traveling by train, and trying authentic cuisine was truly spectacular. I got to experience the most amazing landscapes and incredible activities. I got to check some things off the bucket list: paragliding in the Swiss Alps, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, see the Statue of David, etc.

TFT did an amazing job with this trip! The traveling was seamless and the activity organization was superb! I got to try everything I could have hoped to get my hands on and learned even more in the process! As the title suggests, I traveled across the world but never once felt unsafe or nervous. TFT creates an experience which makes you feel apart of a family! Without question, I wish I could re-live the experience!!
Adventure of a lifetime

I had the most unforgettable experience traveling with TFT to Thailand. Not only was I able to enjoy the most picturesque landscape of the country but I was able to become immersed in the Thai culture like never before. We took traditional Thai cooking classes, learned phrases in the language, and were able to interact with the locals. The service was so interesting as we learned more the amazing creatures that elephants are. The travel around the country was also fascinating. Visiting beautiful temples and exploring city markets was so fun. The islands were gorgeous with light blue, warm water. I created so many unforgettable memories and met so many incredible people on this trip, I would definitely recommend.
Ultimate Europe (30 days)

Ultimate Europe was a life changing experience for me and one I will never forget. I visited 7 countries in 30 days and formed close friendships with people I still keep in touch with and visit today. I highly recommend this trip in particular, because it offered a great mix of active, tourist, historical, and art related activities. The wide range of activities kept the trip interesting and fun, and I never felt as if we were doing the same types of activities throughout the trip. For instance, we hiked in Cinque Terre, visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris, visited the Van Gough museum in Amsterdam, and took the train to do a tour of Dachau in Germany. I also relished learning how to use the public transportation systems abroad and believe it helped me develop a stronger sense of direction. One of the reasons I chose TFT was because in comparison to other competitors who tend to use large buses to transport everyone, we primarily used public transportation, which afforded me an incredible opportunity to experience each place as if I were a local, observing the people who boarded the trains. TFT also stands out from competitors because it embraces flexibility and fosters independence, allowing participants to sometimes choose between activities based on personal interests. Overall, Ultimate Europe was an unbelievable trip that instilled in me a passion for traveling.
