Nice program

I worked in two coastal towns in the south island of New Zealand. One week was in a house and the other week was in an old school house turned hostel in a small community. Planted trees to improve former wetlands and also helped restore a rainforest in the other town and a few small projects in between.

My most memorable part of the experience was the variety of projects, locations were nice.

Teaching and working with the children was the best part of the trip

Had an absolute ball. The Project staff and facilities where we stayed were excellent. The volunteers were a great mixed bunch of people from around the world, all with a common goal in mind and that was to help and make a difference.

Will definitely be going back for a longer stint next time.

Amazing

I enjoyed the social life. I met a lot of people that I can still call my friends now.
I also enjoyed being able to practice my English and Spanish. This experience was very enriching.

The staff very extremely nice and friendly.

I was very exciting to do an internship in Barcelona as I have already been to this city 3 years ago and I always wanted to go back.
I had to do a 2 month-internship for my last year of studies and I found it thanks to Go Eco. This experience was amazing. I got the chance to improve my English and Spanish by talking to the guests but it has also gave me the opportunity to make friends from all over the world and learn more the history of the city of Barcelona.

Surprisingly this internship improved my public speaking too.

This experience was amazing and I recommend it to anyone.

Perfect

I enjoyed working with the turtles... collecting the eggs, re-locating them and having the supervisors explain little things that we wouldn't think to ask. I thought the entire thing was perfect and very well put together.

I have never done a volunteer project before, so i wasn't sure what to expect. Before departure we were sent a package (which was very helpful), than somebody came and picked me up at the airport. I was then brought to my host family house (the family was super great, I am very lucky to have stayed with them), than we went to school for the first week. The school was great, they helped us every step of the way. We went to our first project on the Caribbean coast (Luis was our manager) he was excellent in every regard. We then went to the Pacific Coast (which the school arranged for us). That project was put on by Carol and Jainer (they were EXCELLENT).. The project was AMAZING, and everything was great.. I am very pleased with everything, thank you :)

I had an amazing time at my project

I had an amazing time at my project, it was a surreal experience and one that I am grateful for. I was apprehensive travelling on my own but once I arrived at the project I was made to feel welcomed and it quickly felt like home. It was my birthday whilst I was out there and I can safely say it was my best birthday ever! All the staff joined in with the celebrations and I was sang happy birthday in 7 different languages! I loved my time there and I miss everyone dearly. I loved everything, the atmosphere, the people, the activities and the animals!

Incredible month

I was blessed to meet the amazing people and incredible animals.
I had an incredible month in beautiful Gansbaai working with my favorite creatures on this planet. I am truly blessed to have seen Great Whites in their natural habitat. I will never forget the people and experiences I encountered. I have made life long friends from all over the world and have even found a new place to call my 'second home'. I will return to Gansbaai as often as possible. South Africa is a truly beautiful place and it will always hold a soft spot in my heart.

This project has made me grow

Working to reforest New Zealand was an amazing experience. In the 3 weeks I was volunteering we planted 1,000 trees! The impact of the work we did will be seen for generations as the natural habitat is restored. My favorite experience was planting endemic plants, traveling, socializing with other volunteers.
I have made lifelong friends and experienced the unique culture of New Zealand. This project has made me develop as a scientist, a humanitarian, and as a global citizen.

The volunteer project was my favorite part of the day

The volunteer project was my favorite part of the day and I loved spending time with the children at my project. I wish I could've stayed longer because I definitely enjoyed being able to help the kids with their work and being able to play and have fun with them.

I was originally a bit skeptical when I was given my volunteer placement because there were only 15 kids. I was definitely expecting a lot more and different ages. However, after 3 months I fell in love with the project and the kids, which made me want to stay longer. Fortunately, I met the right people who helped me find an apartment and a job, so I was able to stay another 3 months. At my goodbye party at the project, it was incredibly emotional and nobody wanted to say goodbye. After 6 months of getting to know these children, they practically became my own. I will never forget these children and I hope that I will be able to return soon. Thanks GoEco for the giving me the opportunity to have such an amazing experience! This has truly been a once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope others will have just as great of an experience as I did.

An excellent trip overall

This has been one of the best trips I've been on! I love pandas with a passion, and being able to be near them every day was just incredible. I learnt a lot from the keepers, not just the species but also every panda we had in the area (there were 13 pandas in the area I was assigned to). The weekend trips around the area were also eye opening! I enjoyed the interaction with pandas & learning the pandas from the keepers the most during my stay.An excellent trip overall with great friendships forged.

It was amazing!

It was amazing! I got to work and see lots of wildlife. It was the best experience of my life. Also the friendships I made and people I met added to the experience. It was remote but it just added to the adventure. I would definitely do this again! My favorite part of the experience was the work and the friendships I made!

I enjoyed my stay

This was definitely one trip that I will never forget. I decided to go on this trip because I was home from college and did not really have anything to do. This trip fit perfectly in. I got to work hands on with animals while at the same time learning conservation and what I could do to help. I think this trip is a great opportunity when you want to learn independence and at the same time, what it would be like to have a job working with animals. I made some great friendships with friends from all over and we still talk almost ever day since we've left.
I enjoyed getting to see the collar put on the hyena, the leopard get surgery and releasing the monkeys.

Absolutely incredible

Everyone was very friendly, the staff were all so much fun and joined in with all the partying. It was incredible doing the elephant walks in the mornings, best thing to wake up to. And just all the free roaming animals you cross on your way up to the meals. Also include the lion training and running away from hippos was an unforgettable experience.

This project was work hard, play even harder. Had a fantastic time with all the animals, waking up to go for an elephant walk as the sun rises was just the best. They had 18month old lion cubs while I was there and a rhino who came over at the call of her name which was an incredible experience. It an amazing experience, getting to work with animals, have parties in the bush and learn and do all the maintenance work. An unforgettable experience was participating in the fire breaking. We also got to do lots of activities on our 2 breaks per week such as zip lining, quad biking, visiting the cradle of human kind, lesedi (a cultural village), the list goes on and I was only there for 3 weeks. The staff were just absolutely incredible and made everyone feel so welcome. I felt at home within a few days and did not want to leave when the time came.

My experience was absolutely amazing!

There were so many things I enjoyed the project, but 2 stick out.
1. The impact I was able to have on the children in the township
2. The amazing friends I was able to make who were from all over the world

My experience was absolutely amazing! It was definitely the best trip I have taken so far in my life.

The volunteering experience was incredibly rewarding. Being able to help teach 3-6 year old children english and see the progress each week was a true blessing. Also, helping the 13-15 year old kids learn how to surf and stay out of trouble was a lot of fun and satisfying as well.
In addition to volunteering, I was able to go surfing a ton, explore Cape Town very thoroughly, and do some awesome adventures to other parts of South Africa on the weekends.

This trip was so great and everything I could have asked for.

This was an amazing experience of a lifetime

This was an amazing experience of a lifetime. I learned a lot African Wildlife Conservation and met a lot of amazing people from all around the world. The staff were more than welcoming and we've since become friends on social media. I did a 3 day rhino tracking excision which was more than I could have hoped for. My love for rhinos has blossomed 10 fold. I would have never left if I didn't have to. South Africa has won over my heart. I will be back again in the next year.

The staff on the island were absolutely amazing! Very kind and accommodating. The dive masters especially really took the time to help us feel comfortable and would adapt the dives to what it was we wanted to do. I also felt very safe.

Thank you

During my high school years, I participated in a camping/nature program (Northward Bound). Growing up in a larger city in Ontario, Canada, I had very little exposure to nature, wild animals and interior camping life. It changed the way I viewed 'nature' and forged my "Canadian" environmental identity. In a similar manner, this brief period of time spent on Tom Owen's Caye, has forged an 'adult' environmental identity for both my wife and I. As avid crossfiters, we are encouraged to put our 'fitness' to use in our own communities. The week of regular dives, learning new techniques and adapting to a foreign environment and routine, definitely put our fitness and vitality, to the test. We are better off for having signed up for this experience. We are already planning for next years adventure. From my wife and I,Thank you.

The best month of my life!

Words cannot describe what an amazing time I had volunteering! First of all, the setting is just stunning as the place is surrounded by mountain chains. You can admire this view while walking the elephants, or if you go within the next few months, the 3 lion cubs. Malia, Nairobi and Malakkai were the absolute highlight as we had a lot of interaction with them and it broke my heart to leave them!
Everyday is different; from injecting goats, horse riding in the morning to chasing animals out of places where they aren't supposed to be! Everything was so overwhelming in the beginning and it was still at times after two or even 4 weeks because you experience so many different, new things.
Whatever excursion you want to do, the lovely Less will make it possible. I went to a monkey sanctuary, reptile farm, skydiving (twice), etc...
Of course the people you meet are a crucial part of your experience and you won't be disappointed: they are all amazing! They come literally from all over the world and still you all connect, because you are all there for the same reason: Your love for animals and traveling! Fun is guaranteed and it gets never boring!
The best part, however, were the different animals: the gracious tigers, the stunning lions (they are taller than you think!), the beautiful elephants, the playful leopard Selati, the super chilled zebra Jack an Roxy, the hyena, my personal favourite!
I enjoyed every second of my stay and I left a piece of my heart at this amazing farm in South Africa with all of those beautiful animals! I will definitely go back!!!

Once in a lifetime

I have been thinking going to South Africa for a while now and when I saw this program it really pushed me to do so. I had the most amazing time, and my only regret was I didn't go for long enough. The interaction with the magnificent animals was more than I could have dreamed for and the leaders and manager made the experience so much more enjoyable. Everyone was so knowledgeable and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Highly recommend and I hope to return very soon!

My vegan bakery internship

I have only positive reviews for this program. As a solo traveler heading to the Middle East for the first time could be quite daunting. Throughout my whole experience from the weeks leading up to my trip, to my entire stay…not once did I feel alone, clueless or stressed.
Every matter was addressed and made clear to me.
Life changing adventure filled with culture, appreciation for world issues and new friends.

La Marina and Paraiso Carlisa

I stayed 2 months in Costa Rica with 6 weeks of volunteer work. My first month was in 2 projects for animal rescue and conservation and I was really lucky because these 2 projects were amazing.

In the first one, I had the chance to meet a lot of people from all over the world and we had a really good time during the day at work. We lived together in a family house close to the project and the family allowed us to leave for amazing week end around the country at the end of the week. The team at work and our family were all really nice to us and did everything so that we could feel like home.

In my second project, it was really different because I was the only volunteer here for the first days but it was perfect. I fell in love with all the animals and I loved working there, feeding the animals, hanging with them during all day, listening to the parrots talking and laughing ... The team there was so nice to me and this project was a little paradise.

When you do something so different than your actual life, you can have hard moment because you are not use to take your time and to just enjoy the present. I live in Paris and I love my life but it is so different than my adventure in Costa Rica. I have learned to take more time to do things, to focus on one thing at the time and to stop wanted to rush everything. It was another way of living and I am trying to keep this good habit. I realized a lot of my dreams there, Costa Rica is an amazing country and the projects proposed by Go Eco helped me to discover it from another side than just travel in a country. I met a lot of local people and this was the best way to know the country and discover secrets places ! I can't wait to do it again.

Thank you Go Eco, it was perfect from the beginning to the end.

My great escape

My time at Wildlife Sanctuary Volunteer Experience through GoEco, was the absolute best two and a half weeks of my life. The first thing that appealed to me this project was the low cost. Honestly, 1350 USD for 2 days at a hostel, a shared accommodation for 2 weeks, all meals included, and transportation? Amazing. I was able to meet people from all around the world, help animals in need, and see a beautiful country. I have been to many different countries and I have been apart of so many amazing programs, but I can truly say with a full heart that this truly was the very best. The project leaders were absolutely amazing, the days were evenly structured into two hour work intervals, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere at this sanctuary was infectious with love, care, and unity. I have made some lifelong friends on this project, and we are already planning our return for next Summer.

Out of Africa

This experience was, by far, one of the best I have ever had. I have never volunteered abroad before and can say that the Wildlife Sanctuary was the perfect place to start. The people and workers on the farm were a big part in my positive outlooks. Everyone was very friendly and willing to help you feel as comfortable as possible. Don't get me wrong, you did have to pull your end of the job and get down and dirty sometimes, but, for me, it lead to some of the best memories. Just being around the animals created a happy place for me. As we did conservation work, we also shared the time with animal work, which was the best part. We were able to interact with various types of animals up close and personal. The farm was like one big, happy family which made me feel at home. I learned a lot nature and conversation, as well as, the animals and their habitats. Every day I spent on the farm was a moment to cherish and realize just how beautiful Africa is and all it has to offer. Thank you GoEco and Glen Afric for one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of!
