The best experience of my life

I don't even know how to properly expressed how much I loved my time abroad with CIS, but I will do my best.

They are extremely organized and very friendly. There is always somewhere there to help you with anything including directions and advice. You get picked up from the airport and you go into Tokyo with all your new friends. This was really great for me because this trip was my first time traveling. Ever.
The day after you go on a tour of where you'll be living and you even go on an excursion! They immerse you immediately and it's honestly the best way to get comfortable in a new country.
The school is beautiful and full of teachers/students excited to teach YOU. I learned to read and write within two weeks!
Being able to go on excursions with the Japanese students gives a new perspective. You get a locals viewpoint but you also get to take it all in as a tourist. You even get to wear a yukata in harajuku and experience a tradiational tea ceremony!

I made the best memories and the BEST friends while in this program. I'd give anything to be able to do it again. I highly recommend CIS to anybody wanting to go abroad!

My life changed through study abroad

My program completely changed my life. It has impacted me in ways I cannot describe in words. The knowledge of the staff and the cultural immersion was so fascinating. Please don’t let money or your comfort zone get in the way of your study abroad decision. Leave your comfort zone behind and dive into new experiences. My outlook has changed and now feel like I can do anything with my life. Japan is such an amazing country with the nicest people in the world. I am going back to Japan next year hoping to pursue a new career, all thanks to my experience through CIS!

Soaking in the (land of the rising) sun

My time in Japan was a wonderful, beautiful experience filled with new flavors, music, and people. For me, Japan was my classroom. I learned more in one day than I have in years. Each day, we'd go to class and learn, then go explore and learn, and then go out at night and learn. I visited dozens of brilliant landmarks, shrines, temples, mountains, lakes, and rivers. I learned a little bit of a language I had no knowledge of beforehand. I met people from Japan, China, Australia, Taiwan, and parts of my own home country, the U.S.A. I ate enough ramen to keep me full for the next year (just kidding - I could still eat some more). Best of all, I learned so much myself! I hope to come back to Japan some day and learn even more.
