GoAbroad Interview

Guy Bezant - Project Manager

As the project manager for Frontier’s Tenerife Whale and Dolphin Conservation, Guy’s duty is to oversee and manage all the project’s logistics, health and safety, and research. He works with a staff team consisting of researchers and scientists, journalists, and junior managers, and of course international volunteers.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

The day starts the same way most days before we really get into our stride. We get up, make breakfast, and sit round together before the staff and volunteers kick the day into high gear and make our ways to activities. Meals and briefings are the only times we’re all together, otherwise we are running a minimum of four activities per day for varying sized groups in various areas of the island of Tenerife, so I’m responsible for managing these and ensuring everything runs smoothly. This throws up unexpected challenges, laughs, mistakes, and accomplishments that are all just in a day’s work.
